Signs Your Printer Needs To Be Repaired

Your printer is an important machine in your home or business. You use your printer to print or make copies of important documents, photos, or even marketing material.

When your printer begins operating poorly, it;'s time to get the equipment repaired. Here are signs you should look for in your printer, so you know when to call for professional assistance:

Lines on Printed Paper

If you see black or colored streaks running across your printed pages, your printer may need to be cleaned. If your printer comes with a self-cleaning option, use this method of repair first. If pages you print continue to have lines running through them, then repair is likely what you need.

Blurry or Double-Printed Imagery

Your printer should produce clean imagery where you can clearly see the printed words and pictures on each page. If your printer isn't lining up properly or there are issues with the laser printing aspects within your machine, you may notice edges of lines being blurry (making printed documents hard to read) or even double-printed, obscuring the view of what you've printed entirely.

Constant Paper Jams

If no matter what you do with your printer it jams up halfway through the process, you will want to have your unit looked at by a professional printer repair specialist. This is especially the case if your printer is also printing slowly, making grinding or loud noises while operating, or seems to jam with every page being printed out.

Failure to Operate

Your printer may not respond as quickly as it used to if it needs to be repaired. Your printer may be slow to receive printing cues, may print slowly (as mentioned above) or may even halt in between printing to start printing again when you don't want it to.

All these mechanical difficulties with your printer can indicate that it's not receiving a wireless signal or other cues to print. To make your printer more reliable in its service, call your printer repair specialist to inspect your equipment.

Wet Printed Pages

Ink takes a small amount of time to dry on pages that are printed with photos or other rich imagery but should not print out wet. If your printer is producing pages that are too wet to touch right away or ink comes off the page as soon as you touch it, then it may be sending out too much ink for the page. Call your printer repair specialist to check your printer to see if the cartridges or the printer itself are to blame.
